Winter Indoor Club Team Evals (u8, u10, u12, u14, u16 & u19 Teams)

Is your player interested in challenging their game and playing at a higher level? If YES - then you should join one of our Winter Indoor Club Teams! Attend our Indoor Club Team Tryouts on Saturday 10/18 to be evaluated.

Legacy is excited to enter our 5th official Indoor Season as a Club Team! We have continued to grow and develop over the past few years, and are excited to see our players compete again this winter! We are always looking for new athletes to add to our family. Come and check out what MDL is all about and attend our Winter Indoor Club Team tryouts.

Indoor Club Team Tryout Details:

  • Who: u8, u10, u12, u14, u16 and u19 players

    • u8 Birth Dates: 8/1/2017 & younger *New this WINTER!

    • u10 Birth Dates: 8/1/2015 - 7/31/2017

    • u12 Birth Dates: 8/1/2013 - 7/31/2015

    • u14 Birth Dates: 8/1/2011 - 7/31/2013

    • u16 Birth Dates: 8/1/2009 - 7/31/2011

    • u19 Birth Dates: 8/1/2007 - 7/31/2009

  • When: Saturday 10/18

  • Time:

    • u8 & u10 = 2:30pm - 3:30pm

    • u12 & u14 = 1:00pm - 2:30pm

    • u16 & u19 = 3:30pm - 5:00pm

  • Location: Ridge Road Recreational Park Outdoor In-line Skating Rink (Germantown, MD)

    • *Only Tryouts are at this location. All winter practices will be at the Frederick County Fairgrounds.

High School Indoor League (Rising 9th - 12th Grade)

Grab your HS teammates and form a team for the 4th Annual MDL High School Winter Indoor League! Don't have enough HS teammates interested to form an entire team? Don't worry, we will group you with other HS teams in the same situation or you can join our House Team! Which HS will WIN the 2026 HS Indoor League Championship?! The reigning champ is: Walkersville HS!

HS Indoor League Info:

  • Who: Current 8th - 12th Graders

  • League Dates: Sundays in Jan/Feb

  • League Game Times: TBD (typically Sunday evenings)

    • Each team will have a 1hr time slot during this time frame. Your 1hr time slot will most likely change each week based on your team’s game schedule. No team will be there for 5 hours on Sundays!

  • Location: Frederick County Fairgrounds Building #14

  • Cost: $99/player

Youth Winter Indoor Leagues (3rd - 8th Grade)

Join us for our 3rd annual Elementary & Middle School Winter Indoor Leagues! Our goal is to continue growing the sport of FH in Frederick, Carroll and Montgomery Counties by giving kids the opportunity to develop their skills (or learn a new sport!) year-round with our experienced coaches. Grab your friends and form your own team, or be placed on a team and make some new friends!

This League is geared towards players who are newer to indoor field hockey. We will teach the indoor FH game and rules, as well as the skills that are needed to be successful on the court! Players will have the option to sign-up for the League ONLY or the League + 8 week Indoor Clinic.

Youth Winter Indoor League Details:

  • Who: Current 3rd - 8th Graders

  • League Games: 6 weeks

    • 3rd - 5th Grade League

    • 6th - 8th Grade League

  • Location: Frederick County Fairgrounds Building #14

  • Cost:

    • $125/player = League ONLY

    • $225/player = League + 8 week Indoor Clinic

      • Save $25 when you register for both the League & Clinic!

Do Players need to have prior FH playing experience?

No! Prior playing experience is NOT required to play in the MS League, but it is recommended that you also sign-up for the Winter Clinic option so you can learn the fundamentals of field hockey!

Field Hockey is still growing in Frederick County, so our goal is to get a field hockey stick in the hands of as many players as possible! Did you know that at least half of the HS teams in Frederick County don’t have enough players to form a JV team each season? We need to work together to FIX that problem! In order for FH to become more competitive in Frederick County (and for one of our teams to hopefully bring home a State Championship some year!), we need to grow FH so that EVERY HS team has a JV team where they can learn and develop their game before the Varsity level!

So long answer short - grab your friends (whether they have played FH before or not) and let’s grow FH together this winter!
